As I haven’t been out windsurfing since August 23rd I was keen to get out
today as we have been away in our campervan having a great time in Essex
before seeing the new Grandson:) With the wind in the west and giving blood
at 3.05 Levington was the only option but the tide was really good coming
in all of the session. I arrived at the marina with loads of water but not
much wind so rigged big. I set off toward the dock but not enough wind so
switched to beating up the Orwell with the aim to get to the bridge. Sadly
the wind was too light and I gave up at the lovely Pin Mill but there are
now a huge amount of waders on the river which is always great to see:) I
planed in patches on the way back and on reaching the corner I caught a few
gusts and broke 20 knots so I tried a run to the docks overtaking the
tourist boat from Ipswich on the way. I landed at Shotely to watch the
diving Turns before beating back. The wind increased a little so I beat up
the river a little way but by the time I turned it had dropped so decided
to call it a day, nice to be out windsurfing again, shame the wind didn’t
play ball! Some wind forecast over the next week so should be able to get
out again soon:)
